Fantastic Restored Original Blue Label Mid Century Ercol Daybed / Studio Couch.
This Ercol Original has been fully restored. The wood has been striped back and refinished in 3 coats of Osmo Hardwax oil. The Beech frame is in fantastic structural condition, there are no cracks in the bentwood arms and the joints are solid. The Elm backboard is in great condition and can be removed if required when used as a bed.
The photos shown are of a previous daybed, the one currently for sale is the same but there will be minor differences in the wood grain on the backboard, the photos actually show minor cracks on the bentwood arms, these are not there on the daybed that is available. Further photos available on request.
The Daybed still has its Blue Label (mostly intact, see photos) therefore this item was manufactured between 1954 and 1976.
The frame has been re-webbed using Pirelli Webbing as it would have originally been.
The seat mattress is a top quality reflex foam that is suitable for sleeping on and is incredible comfortable so the daybed is great as an occasional single bed and is long enough to seat 4 people. The mattress cushion has a zipped removable cover, the top fabric is Camira Synergy, a beautiful felted wool in teal. The cushion cover is double stitched and top stitched.
The Daybed comes with one set of 4 feather filled scatter cushions in beautiful fabric by Timorous Beasties. Choose either the Storm Blotch velvet or the Bloomsbury Garden linen. The Storm Blotch Velvet cushion has a midnight blue velvet back and the Bloomsbury Garden Linen has a Camira Synergy Teal wool back to match the mattress cushion. Choose from Three x 48 x 48cm square and one 48 x 28cm rectangular cushions in the Storm Blotch or 43 x 43cm square or 46cm x 28cm rectangular cushions in the Bloomsbury Garden Linen.
