Fantastic Original Ercol Daybed / Studio Couch with/without Ercol 431 Footstool.

This Ercol Original is in great vintage condition. The Beechwood frame is in perfect structural condition, there are no cracks in the bentwood arms and the joints are solid. The frame has a few very small signs of use but this just adds to it’s vintage charm. The solid Elm backboard is in great condition, the elm has beautiful grain patterns that you wouldn’t get with a reproduced Ercol daybed. The backboard can be removed if required when used as a bed.

The frame has been re-webbed fairly recently using Pirelli Webbing as it would have originally been. The webbing is still strong so I saw no need in replacing it.

The seat mattress is a quality 5 inch foam that is suitable for sleeping on and is incredibly comfortable so the daybed is great as an occasional single bed and is long enough to seat 4 people. The mattress cushion has a zipped removable cover, the top fabric is a beautiful Caribbean blue felted wool from Abbotsford Textiles.

The 3 back cushions are a fun colour blocked pattern in pink, blue and yellow wool on one side and plain blue wool on the reverse, mix them up as you like!

This Daybed is available with or without the Ercol 431 footstool. The footstool has new Pirelli webbing straps and a cushion in matching blue wool.
